Finally! A New Post!

Well, today is Friday, and I'm in Juneau, AK jumping back into work on the Safari Explorer and Safari Spirit for the next 7-8 weeks. The photos above are from my first rotation in Alaska, and with the purchase of a new set of hard drives, I should be uploading images at a better pace from now on. For the entirety of my first rotation up, I wasn't downloading ANYTHING, only buying more CF cards and hoping that I wouldn't witness an epic event that would force me to delete images from previous natural encounters (luckily I didn't miss much).

For the first week of my time off I flew down to LAX, where I met my friend Chirstian and his sailboat "Altair" for a week of driving and frolicking in the sun. We shot sheepshead, calico rockfish/bass, some yet-identified critters, and some other critters that my lawyer would recommend I leave nameless... But it was sooooo tasty! We did some hiking, I did some nose-bleeding (equalization issues), and we watched a laptop movie nearly every night - life is good.

My week in Seattle flew by, spending most of my time with Aimee just relaxing, bumming around town, and soaking in the luxury of lazyness. We went to the drive-in, ate crumpets, cherries, peaches, wine, beer, chicken, and all sorts of other pleasures of the food kind. I bought a unicycle at a used sporting goods shop, made sure my boat was still floating, and watched "Inception" in an air-conditioned theater (with a $7 bag of popcorn).

Anywho, time is coming for guests to arrive, and I must be off, but thanks to those of you who read this for giving me crap about not making recent posts: this is my first time on the internet, on an actual computer, in over 7 weeks. Wow! Especially my friend Charlie (congrats to the newly-weds! Yay!) who said that because I wasn't posting anything new, he switched to reading Christian's blog instead. That made me laugh, and get my butt into "action."

Cheers yo! And happy Summer!
